Everyone likes a golf course that lets you attack and Fairwood Park is certainly that type of course. Woodland in nature, it features nicely contoured and wide-open fairways that are rather appealing on the eye when you stand on the tee. It is a fairly flat course so don't expect to have any nasty uphill/downhill lies.
The course played host to the Welsh Professional Golf Championships on 2 consecutive occasions in the 1990s, both of which were broadcast live on BBC television at the time. As such it is the only course in the Swansea and Gower area that can claim true 'Championship' status. A number of lakes have been introduced in recent years to catch errant balls and the club has also planted some 10, 000 trees to add even more spice.
The clubhouse will play host to any visitors and, interestingly, was an RAF hospital during World War II.
