Founded in 1908 after a group of local golfers decided their town should follow the example set by other small Welsh towns and build its own golf course.
Thankfully, people power still exists to this day, as the result is a course now over 100 years of age and one that provides a spirited test to all levels of player.
At just under 6, 000 yards in length it does not require you to go with your driver off every tee. That, however, doesn't mean it is easy by any means and the 600 or so members will testify to that. The test is accuracy, avenues of mature Oak and Elm are but one aspect of this inspiring course which features superb views down the Vale of Clwyd to the coast.
The course is in excellent condition and is in the 'must play this year' category. Be sure to visit the 19th Hole, relax in the friendly atmosphere and sample the fine food and drink.
