Welsh rugby legend Jonathan Davies OBE has paid tribute to Langland Bay Golf Club's Mark Evans after the popular golf pro died following a battle with bowel cancer.

Welsh rugby legend Jonathan Davies OBE has paid tribute to Langland Bay Golf Club's Mark Evans after the popular golf pro died following a battle with bowel cancer.

Evans, 55, from Burry Port, became a fully qualified Level 3 Professional in 1981 and had worked at Langland Bay for 20 years following spells at Pontardawe, Glynhir and Fairwood Park golf clubs. "Lost a great mate today, puts everything into perspective," Davies tweeted. "RIP Mark Evans pro @Langland1.

Will miss you mate. #onelifeliveit." Evans, who was in work as recently as ten days before his death, had been fighting the disease for a year and had undergone chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments. He leaves behind wife Sheril and three sons: Ashley, Dean and Adam.
