Golf in Turkey

As a golf holiday destination, Turkey is head and shoulders above any other nation in Europe in terms of the growth of sensational new courses.

Some of the biggest names in golf, among them Colin Montgomerie and Nick Faldo, have been enlisted to create lavish layouts there, and the PGA Sultan and Pasha courses at Antalya Golf Club are at the very top of the tree.

Developed by leading architects European Golf Design, together with senior tour pro David Jones, both courses combine innovative design, elaborate construction and tireless maintenance to produce the pinnacle of perfection.

One of few courses in Europe bestowed with ‘PGA’ status, the Sultan is set out within a maze of ponds, lakes and streams to delight the senses. This was something appreciated by finalists of the £30,000 PGA National Pro Am Championship, contested there in 2007, 2008 and December 2009, all of whom received a free stay at the nearby Sirene Golf Hotel as a bonus.

And with preparations already underway for staging the 2012 Eisenhower Trophy, this is the ideal time to try out the PGA Sultan. In anticipation for welcoming the most exciting amateur talent in golf, you can be sure the course will be the very definition of immaculate.

Despite being the ‘junior’ course, The Pasha is every bit the equal of its PGA neighbour and sets the scene for delightful holiday golf with a lesser yardage, and larger, more undulating greens.
