Nairn is one of the very best towns for enjoying the Royal and Ancient game in the Scottish Highlands. Situated on the edge of the Moray Firth to the north east of Inverness, the Highland's capital city, it enjoys a prime location and is easily accessible.

There are countless hotels and guesthouses available in the town and on its outskirts and the bars and restaurants provide for some unique entertainment. Be sure to search for your evening's fun away from the town centre, as there are bars located in the strangest of places that are simply unheralded gems!

Nairn Dunbar has played host to a number of esteemed tournaments and is generally regarded as one of the Highland's best links courses. Although it is slightly sheltered from the elements in parts it poses a distinct challenge throughout.

The club undertook a few developments recently where the tenth and 11th holes saw some fantastic changes. The course has a number of tricky par fours, while its eighth hole is one of the finest par threes in the north. It has long been a favourite for members and visitors alike and is one of the most photographed holes in Scottish golf.

One of the finest championship links courses in Scotland is Nairn Golf Club. It is capable of testing the most gifted of players and has hosted a number of high-profile national tournaments including the Scottish Amateur Championships and the Walker Cup in 1999.

Nairn boasts fast, hard-to-read greens and thick links gorse, which conspire to provide you with one of the toughest challenges you're ever likely to face. Founded in 1887 the course has been extended and modified by Old Tom Morris, James Braid and Archie Simpson.
